Silver Birch Sauvignon Blanc RIP“So long, and thanks for the cozy digs!” – Silver Birch Sauvignon Blanc (2009-2010)

On August 29th, 2010 the Silver Birch Sauvignon Blanc made the first of many cameos in my glass. It was a true friend week after week, always providing a quaff of New Zealand grapefruit goodness whenever I needed it.

And sadly, like puppies and brazen youth, its days have finally come to an end.

When I raided the fridge looking for a swig this Sunday, all I found was lifeless, oxidized dregs of something that resembled wine, and would’ve probably got me drunk too (assuming I had enough of it,) but I’m seriously not that much of a wino. Plus, Thunderbird is waaay easier.

So I shed a tear, and opened a PBR, and remembered the good times we had together. It was an impressive run of about 5 weeks, and proved that boxed wine labels, such as Octavin, are offering some seriously quaff-able juice that has some stamina, to boot.
