“Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!”

Beaujolais Nouveau Chicago Two weeks from today is the release of the Beaujolais Nouveau, the most exciting day in winedom, also the most maligned. Some people just don’t like to party. To be fair, the reason most wine snobs scoff at the juice is because of the low quality that Beaujolais Nouveau usually brings to the stemware. But screw it, times are hard. People are buying Vizio’s left and right, not the Sony 120hz full-HD flatscreens they deserve. Sign o’ the times.

So if you feel like kicking off the holiday season with some good vino, George Duboeuf would like to invite us Chicagoans to celebrate the 2010 vintage of Beaujolais at the Vertigo Sky Lounge (660 N. State) on 17 November from 10 P.M. to 1:30 A.M.

The 2010 George Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau will be uncorked at one minute past midnight, and I’m told there will be acrobats and jugglers and old school pandemonium to greet the new vintage with all the fanfare it deserves.

Space is limited, so RSVP to Jason Gutierrez (jason.gutierrez@wjdeutsch.com,) tell him Sam from Brokewino.com sent you, and check out George Duboeuf on the Facebooks. Here’s to the Holidays (bah humbug.)
